I wonder at many things. But now quite often I wonder about this mass conversion which has happened in our country.

Because in my family, among relatives, among friends I am the only one who oppose current government. I belong to almost old generation, and middle class, urban educated class. And this class is the most loyal, most vociferous supporter of this party. What happened and when did this happen?

Our generation people have very strong value system. We strongly believe in not hurting others by our deeds and words. We believe in equality. We don’t discriminate on the basis of caste or religion . At least not overtly. So on the whole, we are broad and open minded good folks.

But now our entire class supports divisive, non-democratic, non-secular (openly) party which does not believe in equality, promotes us and them theory openly and takes no action on mob violence. 

I wonder how can such change of heart occur. 

Vote bank politics, rampant corruption, and most importantly lack of a strong leader in the previous regime might have added fuel to fire. But now, none of these ills seem significant. To me. But to them? 

 Now they believe that in 70 years congress has not done anything for the country. And they see saviour who will bring back our country the glory it deserves. They deserve. 

No, this phenomenon is very complex and needs deeper study and understanding.
