So many changes occurred in the last month. Political changes.
I am happy as the government is implementing the poll promises. But at what cost? How many hundreds of crores. Does the forty percent cover for all these freebies?
Free bus travel for all women is good concept. But is it really needed? Do our middle class women need that kind of financial support? Reserve the scheme to needy women - may be women who have BPL cards.
But that may increase the resentment of middle class/upper classes towards poor. Already there is lot of anger towards distribution of rice to the poor. As I have many rural folk say, as they get free rice, they do not want to work in our fields. Understandable, but is it just?
And then the free electricity to all consumers. Looking at the rain pattern this year or lack of it so far, will we have electricity to give? And already the enraged industries are planning a strike. The government should placate the rich too, shouldn't it?
And my personal concern is, if due to all these, the government is unable to last till next year maha elections, we lose our only hope.
My friend added in her status that "they" don't want bjp text books, they don't want something else. But they want bjp rice. I was appalled. Not at my friend - but for the person who wrote this meme. The rice central government is supposed to give to our state - it is bjp rice? How?
Remember cumulative and associative properties in algebra?
If A = B, and B = C, then A=C
That's how common man is understanding politics nowadays - or is portraying. The nation head is equal to party. Party is equal to nation. Party is also equal to religion.
So if you insult the leader, you are insulting the nation and our religion. What a logic!
Then again, I am a common man (woman) too. With my own limited knowledge and warped viewpoints. And lots and lots of prejudices. Now that leader of opposition is gaining popularity - I skip the articles which glorify him. (We Indians always deify our leaders)
And look at the situation in wb. I am all for female power of didi and her down to earth appearance and courage to stand up against the leader. But the way she is not stopping violence - panchayat poll violence and opposing the deployment of central forces, is shameful - deplorable. Do all our politicians willing to do anything - absolutely anything to win an election? What does it tell about us - common men and women whom they do represent?
