Truth vs whatsapp truth
Let us look at some hypothetical situation.
I write a whatsapp message saying that
I read a book called Mithyameva written by Vimudha recently. The book looks really very old. It was in my great uncle's house along with all other old documents, which are kept in peetha and prayed to every year during Saraswati puja.
And in that book there is a statement which says
1 = 0
So it must be really true. One is equal to zero.
I send this message to few of my friends and acquaintances. They send to their friends and families, their friends groups.
Then the message goes viral.
So now everyone is discussing it. How can it be true? How can one be zero? It is basic arithmetic. But the person who sent is an engineer who left his job to read our scriptures in Sanskrit. He (it has to be he, how can a Pandita be a woman?) knows both science and technology and our culture. He has read our vedas and puranas. So it must be true. Say so many illiterate and literate people.
But of course there are people who use their head not just for scratching or adorning. They laugh and ridicule these believers. How stupid is this argument? How can 1 be ever equal to 0? Even a 6 year old child tells you it is wrong.
Do you mean to say our ancestors who knew how to build planes, who knew how to perform plastic surgery, who knew how to build bridges across sea, they are fools? Ask the supporters of this theory. And they say these so called intellectuals always try to ridicule our culture and our ancestors. They are anti-nationals.
This is the end of hypothetical situation. But is it hypothetical? Looking at the behavior of our people now a days, I will not be surprised if this situation becomes true.
I listen to Sadguru telling us why during Lunar eclipse 28 days pass in 2 hours. And why it is very bad to eat during eclipse. We see serious discussion in TV channels saying what terrible things will happen in our country because of blood moon.
So technology which was supposed to open our eyes, make us smarter, is making us parrots, sheep and simply stupid.
It will continue to do so, until we learn how to use our heads instead of our hearts. Realize that even if our ancestors had achieved great things thousands of years ago, that was because they had used their heads, and not just bleated like sheep.
