Unabomber

 It needs a village to raise a child. As a corollary, if a child does not receive the love, it will burn the whole village to get the warmth.

I have heard it - from Netflix series. That is what is the story of Ted - the unabomber. He is a very smart child. And as a consequence feels that nobody understands him. 

In their pride about their son, his parents put him in higher class, but that makes him a loner. He doesn't have any friends, nor communication skills. The only friend, he has moves away once he gets a girl friend. The trend continues even in Oxford. But here he comes in contact with Professor Miles and is selected as one of the subjects for his experiment. Ted does not realize this, but is happy to have finally found some one to talk to, to share ideas with. But Professor Miles prods him with electrodes and lies to him and uses all the sessions for his "mind - control" experiment - which was a government project. 

So so many things have already gone wrong with this one person. And to make matters worse he strongly believes that technology is enslaving humans, so it should be destroyed. 

Ted's younger brother gives him a job, but fires him eventually because Ted after a failed love pastes very nasty stickers about his ex all around the office and disagrees to take them off.

So now Ted starts in a cabin in the middle of forest, without electricity, without running water. 

He is lonely- and angry at everyone. He wants people to listen to him and believe in his ideology. Having PhD in mathematics and a keen interest in science, it is not difficult for him to build bombs. 

And FBI uses the help of a profiler - Jim Fitzgerald to catch this serial killer about whom they have very little information. Jim uses the only information they have, the letters he sends and then his manifesto to create a profile. According to Jim, the unsub is in his fifties, is highly educated, highly intelligent and is a loner. With his obsession to catch the bomber, Jim loses his family. His theories are discredited, he is ridiculed and is finally removed from the project.
