Life is an illusion

A tiny  ant Is walking round and round Unable to find its Path Poisoned? Still sleepy? Or simply insane? Ant is going round and Round and round.  Does it realise  All roads lead to “The end”? So going round And round and round Unwilling to end?

 I got up from chair sighing "Uff". Every time I install my software, I have to face so many obstacles. uff. But my uff was a harmless uff. It did not antagonize any one. It did not hurt any one's sentiments. Safe uff. So every woman must have a passion - other than family or house. A passion or multiple passions - which will make her gray cells work non-stop. This passion will have its own set of uffs. But as they are not uffs of political type, there may not be any lynchings or deportations. As they are not directed towards spouse, there won't be any heated arguments. As they are not directed towards children, there won't be any door slams or i hate yous. As they are not directed towards your neighbor, there won't be any ugly fights or worse - uglier gossips. So have a passion my dear lady. It will provide you some thing to look forward to each day, provide you some purpose to get up in the morning and also join pieces of your head if necessary.

There is a phrase in Kannada “Aranya rodhana “ which translates as “wailing in the woods” . If you weep in the forest, how would anyone hear you or help you?  But many times people fail to hear your wail only because they are busy in their own mess. May be crying. You can also say that you fail to hear other pitiful cry for help because you are busy in worrying about your own sh.. sorry mess. The only time you feel your rodhana is not Aranya rodhana, is when you try listening to rodhana or haasa of others.  The frequency of my writing about this topic may tell you how head buried in sand person I am.

For girls, shopping means fun. Lot of fun and exciting time! Giggles! Selfies! Picking up and not selecting stuff.  For women, - older women, shopping means stairs.  Stairs, so many stairs! Granite, wood, narrow, wide, tall. All kinds of stairs. And a tiny voice which says what if I can not walk at all tomorrow! What is the point this existence if we can not shop!

Do you remember Jamal Malik in Slumdog Millionaire? Serving teas in a call center but then winning a million rupees in quiz contest? We have a similar story here. Kathir Armugam dropped out of school in 9th standard when he realized his passion is in arts. And also his father passed away and his mother working as a daily wage laborer was the sole earning member of the family. He worked odd jobs at places where he could learn and grow. When he started working as a tea boy in a graphic design company in Erode, he was first introduced to the field graphic designing. But he could hardly afford a graphic design course. He started saving and when he got enough funds, he joined such a course. He would work in night shift from 8pm to 5am and attend classes during day time. His mentor Shivaraj introduced him to several artists in Chennai and would take him to various art exhibitions. One of the artists liked Kathir's work and gave him a job as cover designer in a local magazine.

Who is the winner in Mahabharatha war? Gandhari lost all her ninety nine sons. Draupadi lost all upa pandavas. Subhadra lost her only son Abhimanyu. Pandavas lost all their children, their teacher, their great grand father, their cousins, their brother. So what kind of victory was that? How did the winning Pandavas live after the gruesome war? There is some thing inhuman in the concept of war. Even animals do not kill, if they are not hungry. Human with his advances in knowledge and technology uses them to kill other human beings. Why?

I have 3 operating systems in my laptop. One does not start the X server at all. That is it gets stuck before graphical display is displayed. The other one starts, connects to network and does not provide internet. And the third one does not display network icon at all. So which one shall I boot to? And why? P.S. Today it is next stage. No OS at all. Partition not found. grub rescue!!!!

I am realizing the reason behind my anger towards current political scenario. It is anger towards the media which is obviously bought. If I somehow not see the anchors acting like pracharaks I may not worry so much about politics and hence the future of us. What I am yet to understand is, how do the right wing populist leaders in our country and else where are able to convince educated and level headed people to support them fiercely.

There was a Pinterest joke “ a depressed person thinks that he is a good for nothing @#%^  around whom the world revolves” Snicker all you want. But that’s how we think. If we stop thinking  these two, we are fixed. 

Every year, the long journey to my native Sirsi is a kind of beautiful poem.  May be because for around 6 hours, mind gets time to think without digital distractions. And more importantly, I get time to observe without being observed.  The coconut plantations around Tumkur are yellowing out. The reason is lack of rains this year, compounded by lack of water, I guess.   But the red bloom throughout the 450 km stretch was like a festival to the eyes. The famous May flower(gul mohar) trees are blooming everwhere. Were these flowers a colonial gift? May be.   And the road construction work is going in many places between Davanagere and Haveri. We expect the roads to be super smooth, but get super angry when there is maintenance work obstructing  our journey. Our expectations from government is enormous. Look at the irony! This "under construction" project is meant as a maths puzzle. The idea was show a number to user. With 9 other numbers on the screen, how many combinations can be used to get the given number as answer. e.g. 93 is shown as needed answer. And two of the options are 85 and 8. So you have your first combination. As a correct combination is clicked, more options are shown. How many such combinations can the user calculate? So, I have decided to put this project in google drive. Any one who is interested can download it and start working on the project. May be this is what happened with Linus Torvalds and triggered the entire open source revolution.

Mahabharat is a very complex story. It has not 50 shades of gray, but 50000 shades of gray. Why do all noble elders in Dhratarashtra’s court support Kauravas? Why does Bheeshma, the great grand father, who sacrificed his own happiness for his father, goes to Duryodhan’s side? Why does Karna who is famous for charity, does not leave Duryodhan even after he realises that Pandavas are his own brothers? And I see the story as a tragedy- Draupadi faces so much humiliation by her own family, the difficult days in forest, and working as a servant in Viratanagar. Ultimately even though Pandavas win the war, she has lost. She lost all her children. And the life of Karna is another disaster.
